    I've seen some not so great reviews on this restaurant, regarding service and I don't know where those people were - our experience could not have been more perfect from start to finish! Service was super attentive and friendly, food was prompt and each dish we tried was better than the last. A little tip - if you check in here on Yelp, you get a free glass of wine! What could be better than free booze? I could go back here again and again - some also said the menu wasn't very big but I saw plenty I would love to try and just couldn't get it all in on 1 visit. I appreciate good food at good prices and Eat Here definitely brings that to AMI! And let's face it, not every restaurant needs to provide a super family friendly environment so if you aren't comfortable bringing the kiddos here, there are plenty of other places to choose from. And more room for us child free people to enjoy ourselves in peace and quiet!

    The advertising says "the second best food on AMI" referring to Sean Murphy's masterful Beach Bistro. Yes, the food wasn't quite as good, but at 1/3 the price it's one that I could come back to with frequency. Our server Douglas was quick to point out the mechanics of how the food is brought out immediately upon completion in the kitchen, and they food came to us incredibly hot. We started the fish dip and island ribs. The dip arrived with a generous caviar and caper topping and the ribs came with a thai mustard and super sweet mango sauce. The ribs were a revelation. Coming from the midwest you either get your ribs dry or wet, never deep fried! Entrees were the seafood stew and the salmon with horseradish. The stew was tomato based and very savory and the seafood included very large shrimp, clams, mussels and some mahi. The salmon was baked, but not over baked as the interior was still very moist. It came with a corn casserole (a holiday staple at our house) which was almost like a corn custard. Desserts were very good. I had the pineapple cake, loaded with coconut and ginger sugar sauce. My wife went with a chocolate mousse, lightly salted and very good.

    Here with my husband on the recommendation of a local. What a great find! Shared the fine chopped kale salad with currants and roasted almonds. Wonderful! Then we shared the island style ribs with both Thai mustard & papaya jam. FABULOUS! The dish came with house fries & slaw. The house fries are worth a side order on their own. The "sweet of the day" was honey lavender creme brulee. I am a snob when it comes to this dessert. This creme brulee was to die for. The service is fast & friendly. Love, love, loved it!

    Anytime you have to ask what the words are on the menu, then you shouldn't eat here. That was me. I shouldn't have eaten here. My wife had the Lobster Shrimp Taco. She gives it a high rating. It had pineapple and cabbage, instead of lettuce. She said those differences made the tacos very good. She also had the Sweet Corn Casserole I found it lacking taste, she liked it. For my dinner I had the Veal Meat Loaf, which came with Mashed Potatoes. The meat loaf I thought was VERY SALTY...VERY. I could not finish it. The potatoes, I am doubtful that, they were homemade. The service was quick and professional as we got there right at opening at 5 pm. So the rating here is splitting the difference between me and my wife.

    Stopped in on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty busy. We came here based on recommendations from friends. The wait staff was polite and attentive. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos, which were one of the specials. They were very good but only came with two tacos. If you're hungry, order more food.

    Bad experience. We were looking forward to our food- ordered tacos and a pizza. Our food never came. After waiting 75 minutes, we left hungry and disappointed. We were told that there was a mix up in the kitchen. Our waiter did not attempt to make the situation right.

    Gosh where do I start? Fried beats. What's not to like? Fabulous tacos with shrimp and lobster. Yum Fish stew is really lovely....and the desserts. Apple crisp and an Italian chocolate pudding that was to die for. Definitely a must try. And wait staff is excellent as is the host! And get over that you're sitting in a mall parking lot when you're in the outdoor café. But definitely sit in the outdoor café

    My jam!!! Omg's yes I need one in tampa! Service was personal and inviting...the food was outstanding. Lobster tacos, and anything with the key lime sauce! It was such an unexpected surprise! It was an experience! You have to go in period!!!

    What a great restaurant to have in our neighborhood. This is the sister restaurant to Beach Bistro and they do an awesome job particularly with small plates which we always seem to order here. Great brussels sprout hash and fantastic fish tacos. Try the quinoa and kale salad you actually feel healthy after eating here. The tempura fried beets are to die for even though they're fried they are light and healthy. At least we've convinced ourselves that. They stop taking reservations now which is good when you want to just drop in but not so good in season when the place is always crowded. The wait however is made enjoyable by a complimentary glass of wine. Way to go Sean Murphy!

    We were very excited to try Eat Here based on all we have heard, and the thought of getting Beach Bistro type quality at 1/3rd price. Ironically, we would have probably rated it higher if we didn't have that expectation. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, the service was good, the atmosphere was ok, the beer selection was outstanding, the wine selection ok. It just wasn't *great* or even really, really good. We both had the fresh catch specials - one was black grouper (local) and the other with Key West Mahi Mahi. Both were well prepared with a bit of cajun spicing, really just a brushing. Sides included grilled green beans and a kale salad, both were also good. The other sides were a serendipity salad (ok) and a corn casserole. The corn dish was probably the most imaginative and very good. The atmosphere was almost like they weren't sure if they wanted to be eccentric, or beach chic, or even a bit industrial. It was just off a bit. It wasn't a bargain either, I think our specials were $22/$32. We went for the food, not the bargain per se, so it wasn't a big negative to me. I am spoiled by a wife who is a very talented chef, so our expectations are a bit higher and eat here was good, just not up to the hype it receives. We will go back at some point because other than the rod and reel pier (lunch) and skinnys (hamburger), there isn't much choice for the casual dinner place that is a step above the average beach bar and grill on holmes/anna maria. I wanted to give it 4 stars, but just can't on this trip.

    Make a reservation if you want a seat at this place. It is very small...so plan ahead. This is not your typical casual eatery on the island. It offers a very nice assortment of meals and sharing items. We tried the poutine...basically gravy fries and cheese but a little fancier! My wife couldn't stop eating them! We also tried the monster grill cheese and mahi. Everything was prepared perfectly. Great assortment of beer and wine. Servers actually give a damn! You can get carried away ordering too much...as we did. We will definitely be back...but to share an item or two! The prices are comparable to most of the island restaurants. The lack of space is concerning since the only overflow option is converted parking spaces made into an outside dining area. You literally are in a parking lot!

    If you're a foodie, put this place at the top of your list. I don't know why they bill themselves as the "second best food on the island" because there was nothign second best about them. We went here our very first night on the Island (thanks to Yelp reviews) and were not disappointed. Charming decor, delightful service and the food was really good. I ordered the pot roast for my foodie eight-year-olds who are beyond the children's menu, the lobster tacos for another daughter and I had the filet. All were executed to perfection and really superb.

    my husband and and I decided to forgo the Bistro to try something new...bad mistake. The food was good, service great, wine and beer selection great, but just as we ordered two families with very young and loud kids came in....not our idea of time away. if your looking for good food at reasonable prices, we had the blk grouper ($33) and the 8oz. tuna stk ($33), this is for you. If your looking for the ambience and romantic quality, not for you...stick with the Bistro! The sides were arugula salad and grilled green beans and corn soufflé, all very good. We were in and out in less than 40min...our fastest meal EVER! Thank you to Doug who understood and got our check and wrapped up our wine in record time.

    If you are undecided on where to dine while on Anna Maria Island, Eat Here is a must try! From the outside it looks like it would be a family style buffet. Wow, are you in for a big surprise! It is anything but that. This is a cute, quaint, comfortable restaurant that's only been open for 5 months. Eat Here is owned by Sean Murphy who also owns another restaurant on the island called Beach Bistro. I have yet to dine there, but I have heard the prices are pretty steep compared to the very affordable Eat Here. Eat Here is located off Gulf Drive in the Holmes Beach area. On the menus there's a little saying, "second best food on the island - Beach Bistro's little sidekick." After googling Beach Bistro, a #1 Zagat Rated Restaurant that had $$$$, I realized Eat Here's prices were quite a steal (less than $20 for an entree). The restaurant is quite small, seating around 60 inside, with an outdoor patio that could seat around 40 people. There's a large community table inside. I love tables like that because it's relaxed and is a great way to meet other people. We were seated at a cozy little booth. The table was set with 4 low ball water glasses and we were given a wine bottle filled with water for refills. The menu we were given was on a clipboard, 6 pages to be exact. That's a really cool idea. You know they change the menu frequently, another plus in my book. Our server Steven (who was exceptionally nice), greeted us and took our order. We ordered: Bruschetta, Titanic Salad, Salmon, Flounder, Snapper, side of the Focaccia Garlic Toast, and the Key Lime Cheesecake. The Bruschetta was fabulous! It was served with the Focaccia Garlic Toast, which was warm, fluffy, and flavorful. When you top the bread with the slow roasted tomatoes, tapenade and pesto it will absolutely melt in your mouth. The bread was what made the Bruschetta so delicious. The "Titanic" Salad was pretty darn good. I love the name. Now here's the description they listed: "the last thing everyone on the ship saw - iceberg & Blue." The Titanic Salad consisted of Iceberg Lettuce, Maytag Blue Cheese Dressing, Basil-Roasted Tomatoes, Bacon, and Blueberries. The blueberries added a little twist to a classic, which was quite nice. *The Salmon (Domestic Maine Catch), was pan seared to perfection with a nice crispy edge and was served with a Key Lime Butter Sauce and Tropical Fruit Salsa. I tasted Mango the most in the salsa. It was served with Arugula tossed in olive oil and also accompanied with a plump sweet Corn Casserole. I tasted nutmeg and curry powder in the corn casserole, which gave a nice twist to a simple southern side dish. This was a great entree choice. *The Stuffed Flounder (Wild) was good too. The Flounder was stuffed with Crab and Andouille Sausage, served with Arugula tossed in olive oil, the plump sweet corn casserole, and finished with a Creole Cream Sauce. The sauce had Cajun Louisiana flavors. *The Red Snapper was one of the specials for the night and absolutely DELICIOUS! It was pan seared and accompanied with Arugula that was tossed in olive oil, the plump sweet Corn Casserole, and finished in a Ginger Orange Buerre Blanc. Every bite had just as much flavor as the first. Make sure to check out the specials board on one of the walls. While we were enjoying our meal, we realized that our server had forgotten our side of Focaccia Garlic Toast. He brought it out, apologizing and did not charge us for it. Our food was so great that we really did not care about the bread, but we still got it. We didn't plan on dessert but decided to take a look. Once again another clipboard menu ... love it! Out of all the desserts, the one that caught the attention of the table was the Key Lime Cheesecake. We said we were full but if we were to order one it would have been that one. Steven returned and said, "I found a small piece in the back and thought you all might enjoy this." That just made the night that much better. The BEST KEY LIME DESSERT EVER! The owner came by to make sure we had enjoyed everything, another plus! Check this place out! Cheers and Enjoy!

    It was my husband's birthday and we wanted to go somewhere we'd never been before. I keep hearing peeps and cheeps about Eat Here so I made a reservation. From the greeting at the door on the way in until the opening of the door on our way out the night was perfection. Great Service. Fabulous food. Nice Prices. The whole shebang! We decided to order a few small plates to share so we could try different things. We had The Seattle Grilled Cheese...I've been wanting another one since that night. Can't stop thinking about it! We had the Chef's choice pizza which happened to be my favorite...BLT...It was the perfect ratio of ingredients. Delicious! Then we had the ribs and fries....UNREAL good! I haven't had them that good in a long time! I can't wait to try the other two locations; but Anna Maria will always be my first love! :)

    I heard great things about this place and decided to stop in with the lady. When I first was seated I looked at the menu and I was like hmm this seems like a tapas joint. The waitress quickly corrected me and said we don't call it tapas here lol. We started with the hickory smoked fish dip which was way better than what I thought it would be. After we plowed through this, I ordered the mussles. THough they were out so we went with the clams. We lucked out, because this was possibly the best thing we got due to the sauce underneath. It was such a wonderful blend of lemon, garlic, butter, and creamy goodness that when the waitress tried to take the plate we both pimp smacked her hand and said awwwww hell to the no no. We finished up with the lobster tacos which were also out of control. We used the sauce from the clams on this and even were dipping our fries in the clam sauce. This place is truely a tapas style restaurant even though they don't want to be called that. The food is probably some of the best on the island. Though, you will pay for it. I did leave completely full though and would return. The only two downfalls of this place for me were the price and the service was a little off. We waited for our food for about 30 minutes and then it all came out once. They should have known to bring out the plates one after the other or atleast the app first and the next two plates. Overall it was good experience.

    The ambience is awful Waitress was dry and impersonal, not friendly or hospitable.. Didn't even give us plates for appetizers. Food comes plate by plate and not all together, so we were picking off eachothers plate.. Our pizza was so burnt at the bottom, the Yellowtail snapper had too much salt, and the tacos were NOT impressive. So expensive for such little food! I dont who this restaurant thinks it is! NEVER coming back

    I've dined here 2 years ago and it was a great dining experience. Today's experience was less than good. Firstly, we (4 larger than normal sized men) were seated in a booth that is sized for two normal sized women. This was the beginning of our dining experience. One of our group was facing a door that did not have a blind/shade and the sun was glaring in his eyes. We asked to move and were seated in another booth of the same size. Our waiter, Douglas, appeared to be put out by our requested even though we were still in his section. I was squeezed against the mirrored wall and couldn't even move my arm to eat. Our dinners were not delivered at the same time and 3 of us had to wait at least 5-10 minutes before the fourth meal arrived. Our food was over salted and just warm. This is not an example of Beach Bistro trademark. I'm not sure if I'll be returning to Eat Here again but wanted Shawn Murphy to be aware of what I considered a very poor dining experience,

    Wow.. absolutely amazing!!! Awesome service got food quickly and it was hot!! We had a party of 6 and we all thought our experience was exceptional. Salmon with horseradish sauce with corn casserole was fantastic. Pot roast was fabulous as well. This place should be a must eat while on the island.

    Family Outing. Seated immediately, We elected to stay under the heated tent outside. Still a bit chilly. Service was attentive, prices reasonable and food excellent. I had the pot roast with root vegies. Meat was fork tender.Servings were generous. An inspired dollop of honey mustard on the plate added just the right touch. My Bro in law, a rib afficionado pronounced them special. We'd eat there again.

    Wow this was not what I expected!!!!!!....... the menu description is just senseless lots of inside jokes I guess .. Wanted to leave when I read the shrimpscarots or whatever they call it....description yuk!!! talk about putting a damper on your appetite.........It is extremely loud the sound of crashing dishes we couldnt hear the people across the table .our table.....now to get to the food we all shared the ribs & the cobia ... ribs way way over done.... fries greasy ...fish butter caper sauce no flavor Mango salsa lost its personality ..sign on window ...we will no longer serve breakfast Shawn doesn't Like it ??? Who ever he is ??? Pretty sure I won't return very strange place....my friends are quite sure they will not as well... However I have to say our waitress was delightfull.........

    We came here for our anniversary. We've heard from friends about great food, but hit and miss service. Initial impressions were great for us, cute place not too big. We felt welcomed by the staff. It is a fabulous cozy atmosphere. Loved their beer and wine selection. Had bruschetta--a bit greasy and kale salad-AMAZING to start. Wedge salad was yummy too. I had Caribbean grouper--so moist and amazing crust. On the side--corn something...pass on that. Hubby had tenderloin--Delish. Service was awesome! Biggest complaint? Flimsy cafeteria style silverware. Eat here, you can do better than that! Silverware won't keep us away though. Excited to go back.

    Panko shrimp was delicious as well as the steak. The steak was a little over cooked, next time ill say rare instead of medium rare. (It came out medium/medium well) Sausage flatbread - small and yummy! A little pricey - but you get what you pay for!!

    Amazing!!! The atmosphere, food and service, everything was excellent! We have been visiting Anna Maria for the past five years and I can't believe it has taken us this long to try Eat Here. We've always passed it up due to the outer appearance - big mistake! We decided to try some new places this time and chose them by Yelp reviews and this is definitely getting added to out regular places to eat when visiting AMI. The atmosphere inside was awesome. The food was amazing and like others have said, you must try the tempura beets and lobster and shrimp tacos, you will not be disappointed!

    We have been here several times in 2012 and twice in 2013. Always a good meal but we were disappointed last time. Arrived about 5:15 but were not offered a Happy Hour discount on a glass of wine. Do I want to pay $8.50 for a glass of Cabernet because the house wine was so bad? Had the fish tacos which were skimpy to share. Think that early diners deserve a break on food and drinks. $17 for two glasses of wine (plus tip) is out of touch if you want to charge so much make it worthwhile.

    Eat Here is The Beach Bistro's less fancy cousin. I've had their fish tacos and seafood stew. The food here is quite good and the atmosphere is cool. It's just the dishes are too small for me and a bit pricey. But it's a place where you splurge when on vacation.

    We had a very nice experience here during a short stay on Anna Maria. Normally, food in touristy spots leaves a lot to be desired. This spot was recommended by a local foodie (she might be one of about three), and she was right. There was live music and outdoor seating. There was a short wait, so the host offered to get us our drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine from him, which he opened and poured for us, and kept while we waited. Our server was helpful and attentive. To share, we ordered tempura beets (red and yellow) and a ceasar salad, both good. I had Cedar Key clams with a curry broth and fries, delicious. My husband had Gulf Shrimp in an excellent broth. We did not order dessert, but the nice folks at the next table had something key lime which they raved over. This was good, fresh, at least partially local food, with good service. I think we will be eating there again tonight. Addendum: We did eat here again tonight and I have two things to say. 1) French fries with pot roast gravy. Whoa. So. Good. 2) Corn casserole with curry. Why didn't anyone think of this before? Southern corn pudding meets India. Yes. Please.

    Now I can say I've been to Eat Here at least 6 times and that's with only staying in AMI 4 times. The BEST grilled cheese sandwich I've ever eaten. The Seafood Stew is absolutely fabulous, filet tacos are great as well. The only thing that would make this restaurant better is if they had a full bar, although the wine & beer selection is not too shabby. I will definitely return again and again when I'm visiting AMI.

    Second time eating here on yearly visits to the island. Again delighted with creative menu, fine service, trendy setting and great food at resonable prices. This is owned by the same owner as Beach Bistro, internationally acclalimed upscale place about a mile away and triple the price. Here you get very fresh salads, a wide array of meat and seafood dishes with special flair, good selection of beers/wines and some whimsical touches.....like deep-fried hot dog entree and Abita root beer floats for desserts. BTW the hot dog was great served with bearnaise sauce. And now we have 2 other locations for Eat Here in Bradenton and Sarasota......just very confusing.....conflicting directions to "here."

    Great little restaurant with high end food and service but not high end prices. Started with the pontine which was delish and huge appetizer portion. Could have easily been shared with three or four people. The large Caesar was great for sharing. A little too much dressing for our tastes but it was tasty. The earl meatloaf was great comfort food and had wonderful texture and taste. Great wine and beer choices. Overall great choice for a relaxing meal of great food.

    I wish I was able to review the actual meal and waiter service at this location; however, I wasn't able to get to that point. My best friend recently moved to this area and I was visiting her for the week. I looked up all the "must go" places online and came across "eat here." Their website should state reservations ENCOURAGED versus reservations accepted and walk-ins welcome. Since there were only two of us on a Tuesday night, I didn't feel a strong need to call ahead. We arrived for dinner around 7:30 p.m. and were immediately unwelcome as walk-ins. The gentleman at the door was frustrated and short with us stating it's not his fault they're busy. There were plenty of tables open and the restaurant was only about half-full at the time. Maybe everyone chose an 8:00 p.m. dinner time that Tuesday? We were offered a small spot between two couples at a long dining table near the back. This spot was so crammed, we would have understood our neighbors and their eating habits quickly. When I asked if we could go to the other end, we received a firm NO and then he simply offered us a take-out menu. Apparently that was our cue that we were not going to be sat or served here. While they may have received a higher volume of customers from some raving reviews, I don't see them keeping any return visitors unless you follow their rules (that are not stated anywhere). In other words. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU HAVE A RESERVATION. Then, maybe you'll be treated with respect.

    Our last stop on a week long trip to Anna Maria Island & I"m so glad we made it! We were dying to try the Lobster/shrimp taco's and the garlic potato chips with blue cheese for dipping! They both were really good! We also tried the Seattle grilled cheese with muenster/Gruyere, caramelized onions, bacon, & tomatoes! It was huge & very tasty! Our server Mat was very attentive. His knowledge of the menu was unbelievable! Also the hostess (who's name I missed) had curly brown hair & was very friendly & bubbly! I was also impressed with the atmosphere! It was very relaxing & kinda romantic sitting outside. I like how they bring your food when it's ready, not when everyone else's food is ready! I heard an older group of people giving the hostess a very hard time because things didn't come out at exactly the same time! I think they missed the whole concept of this restaurant! The menu even say's they bring the food when it's ready for the freshest food with the highest quality!!! Some people are just impossible to please! I wish we lived in the area, because we would definitely come back!!!

    Dinner yesterday at 6 p.m. was quite nice. We chose to eat inside due to the heat and humidity. The hostess was pleasant and we were quickly seated. We've eaten here probably 6 to 8 times and only once were we disappointed. But not last night. We ordered the tempura'd beets ($9.50) and, as always, they were outstanding. Before Eat Here, I never imagined that beets in any form could taste good, much less delicious. I skipped the always excellent meatloaf and chose a roasted vegetable platter ($15.00). The veggies were varied and roasted to perfection. My wife opted for mussels ($16.00) and they were plentiful, flavored with just the right amount of garlic and chopped onions, together with some crisp garlic flavored toast. We shared a bottle of LaTerre chardonnay ($24.00) which was quite good. The wine list is short. The only negative about Eat Here is that they don't serve liquor, only beer and wine.

    A small happenin' place with superb food, personable staff, & great atmosphere. My husband & I went to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. We started out with the clam chowder. The shrimp & salmon were fresh as fresh can be and perfectly paired with the spices, corn, & potatoes. For main dishes we had: Fish & Chips: Rockfish w/ a lemon garlic tarter sauce. The rockfish was lightly breaded with a not-to-seasoned breading which made the tarter sauce imperative. The pairing was like nothing i've ever tasted before. Seredinpitious Salad: Lavish, beautiful, & compact. All the wonderful things you love about a salad in a healthy portion. I had beets, some sort of smoked cheese, super fresh greens, tomatoes, & other salady things. For dessert: GET THE APPLE CRISP: we were both practically licking the bowl. The perfect hot, cold, crunchy, creamy blend to make this dessert so delicious. We loved it - The atmosphere was casual & cozy. There was a giant communal table where strangers were automatically becoming friends. The waitress was attentive, but not overly needy - food was quick.

    Food gets better and better every time we come here. French onion soup and the Seattle grilled cheese were really good. Kids live their spaghetti as well plus they give all the kids a plate if fruit to keep them busy. Shrimp and grits are to die for. Can't wIt to come back.

    I never got to taste the food. We moved indoor into the drab second dining room after experiencing the ant-infested patio. My wife says I felt unloved... Could be: 15 minutes after bringing us water to the new table we were watching the side kitchen pushing food put like crazy and making eye contact and waving at the waitress still didn't get us any attention. At least not until we left. Nobody even noticed till I was backin' out of the parking space. Two stars is for a cute and inventive looking menu and because I'm in a great mood after the great meal down the road.

    My sister and I decided to visit this restaurant one random Friday night when both of our man lovers were unavailable to feed. We arrived late and chose to eat at a bar table, and I am sure glad we did. There was a random soul sitting across from us who chatted it up our entire dinner. He was a wanderer, had stumbled upon the restaurant and was simply having a meal before he went and met a lady friend across the street at a bar. Gotta love it. We began with an order of the bruschetta which was absolutely delicious. It was accompanied by an olive tapenade and pesto. I became a little too overzealous and spilled a good amount on my lap, but other than that, our appetizer round was delicious and satisfying. For our main dishes, I ordered the mahi with key lime dill butter and capers, and my sister ordered the lobster tacos. Both were o-m-g delicious. I am definitely a fan of this place and if my husband behaves himself, maybe I'll bring him here to experience the deliciousness it has to offer!

    If you are a foodie then you'll like this place. You want to eat inside to absorb the atmosphere. Eat Here is different than most of the places on the island. We were not overly impressed with the french onion soup. However, the titanic salad was great.

    The food was delicious! The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars was because I thought the menu was a bit limited and that for the price, it wasn't a great value. I did think that the food was good, but a bit pricey for the amount of food. My daughter loved the fact that she could build her own pizza (at the table). After they baked it they brought it to her. We had a nice dinner, although we felt a little rushed by our server, although we arrived early for our reservation and ate rather quickly.

    Wasn't impressed and the 2 kitchen thing doesn't make for an enjoyable experience whether your a party of 2 or 12. Dishes from each kitchen come out at different times which makes it kind of awkward when trying to be polite with your guests. I'll give them props on their deep fried ribs for being a nice alternative to the norm but a little too greasy for most.

    2 Girlfriends and I had dinner here last Saturday night. We sat at the community table. As soon as we walked in, we all thought it was hot inside. We ordered beer to start off. Great Louisiana Selections in bottles and many varieties on tap. We ordered poutine and the tempura beets. Loved both of those. We then split 2 house salads. Previous reviews commented on the lettuce being wility- but ours was fine. It had a ton of great ingredients. Main entrees were the gulf seafood stew, lobster tacos and the salmon special. Overall food was great- even saw the owner peek in a few times. If it were a few degrees cooler inside and not in a parking lot would have been 5 stars

    Stumbled over this place and laughed at the sign that said "Eat Here", not realizing it was the name of the restaurant. There was a little bit of a wait, but looking over the menu as we waited, we saw some interesting descriptions and pairings of food. I ordered a special of the day that was a flatbread with grilled veggies and a delicious light sauce. Food is fresh and well presented and very, very tasty. It is a little more expensive than other places I've tried in Anna Maria, but then again, it isn't a chain and it is above many of the restaurants that seem to be on auto-pilot and cater to tourists. The chef obviously cares about quality food and has a passion for the fine art of cooking. Definately worth a try. I will add that we also tried the Eat Here in Sarasota after trying the one in Anna Maria, and I didn't care for the experience at the Sarasota branch as much. I think that had a lot to do with the server who tried to get us to order drinks several times and seemed to be sporting major 'tude. That was a turn off and it had absolutely nothing to do with the food.

    YUM! You must EAT HERE! The food is delish. The service was great - personable, fun staff was always there right when needed/wanted (almost magically) without need for "flagging them down", but didn't hover. Menus are on clipboards, which is a cool, fun way of doing it, and really dials in to the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. Don't let the fact that the outside seating borders the parking lot scare you off from sitting out there; It does not negatively impact the outdoor dining experience at all! Try the Tempura'd Beets - even if you don't like beets, you'll LOVE these! Bottom line: Whatever you order, and wherever you choose to sit, you will love Eat Here, and it will instantly become a favorite "go to" restaurant for you.

    My family and I just ate here tonight, and can I say WOW! This is by far the best meal we have all had here! We had a shrimp appetizer that came in a wonderful sauce, potatoes and arugula salad which was excellent! We also got a delicous salad with home made dressing, fish tacos to DIE FOR!!! My husband got a pizza which was also excellent. The interior is hip and waiters were attentive and knowledgeable. We will eat here again before we head back to Atlanta. The beer list is good and unique as well. All of our dishes were fresh, unique, and the flavor combinations were gourmet! Price is good as well from $8-$22. It was packed on a Wednesday night which says alot! We love EAT HERE!

    Decided to eat at Eat Here based on the reviews. My husband had the heart attack hot dog, a deep fried, bacon wrapped hot dog, and loved it. I unfortunately didn't love, or even like, my fish tacos. The fish was very dry and had no flavor. Although the taco slaw was very colorful and had a variety of veggies, the red cabbage was too abundant and masked the favors of everything else...overall, disappointing. I was intrigued by their tempora beets and was pleasantly surprised at their uniqueness and flavor...very good. Atmosphere was nice, but probably won't visit again.

    Where do I begin? We again decide to eat inside rather in the parking lot "outside" dining area. We walk in and there are a few tables finishing up and one table completely empty. We are greeted and ask for a table for two for inside. The "host" says, "Hmmmm, that may be tough. I can sit you outside though." As we are all staring at the obvious vacant table I ask if it is reserved and he replies "No, we don't take reservations.......okey dokie then :-/ Then after an uncomfortable pause, the "host" then says "Okay, I'll squeeze you in over there and hope for the best." WTF?!?! Then the 1st two bottles of wine we order, they are "out of" and go with one suggested by our server. It was fine although we were not told the price. We order an appetizer/starter each and an entree. The $9 French Onion Soup is a complete and utter RIP-OFF, however, the bruscetta was amazing. As we are eating the "host" comes over and asks how everything was and walks away and then the server, trying to be funny, says "is he harassing you" so I briefy explain how rudely he had treated us only because he asked. We were on date night and didn't need any drama so was going to let it go BUT he asked. From then on, our server was extremely rude as well. Lastly, as we pay the bill and walk out, who do we see frolicking in the parking lot giggling and acting completely unprofessional and immature?! That's right!! The host and server!! WTF?! They were literally running from the complete other end of the parking lot by the Marina!! So very odd. Not sure we will go back. EVER. The Feast was way better. I'd give my money there any day.

    Went for a romantic dinner with my wife. Ambiance was a b it too casual to count as romantic but nice nevertheless. I tried the catch of the day (blackened mahi) and my wife had the lobster tacos. Also ordered the green beans and corn casserole. Food was very good. Only drawback - with desert, the bill came to just over $100.

    Went here after a long day of sitting by the pool. Food was outstanding had the bruschetta which was really good, panko crusted shrimp was super fresh and huge shrimp, my girlfriend had the wahoo fish tacos and she's not the biggest fish fan but they were very fresh and light and she loved them. Service was absolutely outstanding! I would recommend to call ahead.

    after driving around longboat / anna maria island looking for a place for dinner, we stumbled upon this place. It seemed to be the only place in the area that was busy on a thursday night. Nice ambience and decor. This place is more like an american tapas place (dishes are for sharing so u get to try several dishes) for Food - everything was kinda underseasoned - needs salt - panko crusted shrimp - not panko, just regular heavy breading, greasy - fish tacos - ok, light - clams- very good curry broth - apple crisp - tasty! overall - one of the better, happenin' places to eat in brandenton; very nice selection of wines and beers!

    Overrated. A group of 6 went to this restaurant on a recent weekend evening. We had a young quite full of himself waiter who really did not know much about wine yet try to make us believe he did and who relentlessly tried to have us order cocktails. The menu was acceptable but by no means out of the ordinary. Folks at the table ordered a wide variety of apps and entree ranging from salads to the fish of the day. Portions are on the smaller sizer.. Options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten intolerant folks are very limited.

    I have been to AMI several times and have always ignored Eat Here thinking it was just a lil cafe. Wow! Was I wrong. It's a tiny place, but the ambience is wonderful. Very nicely decorated yet you still can be dressed nice casual . The food was superb! Had the seared salmon that was loaded with flavor. Covered in a delicious mango salsa that was delightful. The waiter was kind enough to replace the corn casserole that comes with it with green beans with walnuts. Yum! He was great trying to work around my gluten and corn allergies . Very much appreciate the flexibility. The Titanic salad was delicious too. Iceberg with blue cheese and crumbled bacon bits. The blueberries on top were just enough to add a splash of sweetness. Service was great and we sat on the community table where you can get to know other Anna Maria island friends. Overall, a fabulous restaurant and our top dinner for the weekend.

    Just left Eat Here.We ate inside,very noisy,not very relaxing,in hind sight I would of preferred to eat outside where it was quiet even though you were in the middle of a parking lot! Lobster taco's had minimal lobster meat pretty disappointing.My companions pizza came twenty minutes after my meal very awkward when you're out for a nice meal. Deviled eggs were excellent,tempura beats very salty.I'll stick to the Beach Bistro!

    We found EatHere on Yelp after looking for a new recommendation for our vacationing party of 5. We went on a Thursday night around 6:30 and took the immediate-seating community table option (basically a long bar table that seats 15-20; a fun way to use the smaller space that encourages conversation and - in our case - food sharing!) since there was a wait for a regular table. Only beer and wine grace the menu - no coffee or mixed drinks. Chilled water was offered in a wine bottle and left on the table to refills in short glasses. Tall stems of sunflowers filled other wine bottles that added a whimsical touch to the place :) Our server was a bit too soft-spoken in the louder place, and a bit nonchalant in his service. We ordered (and shared): *fish tacos (SO good; could have used more of the lime aioli, which was my favorite part for flavor) *salmon special, served with pineapple-mango salsa and a key lime butter sauce (this one was my favorite!!) It was served with a side of corn cake (baked with a hint of curry -- so unique!) and we ordered a side of roasted green beans -- a table favorite *fish cakes (think crab cakes but with other fishy ingredients - tasted a bit too much like tuna for me) *shrimpcargo (little shrimps served in an escargot butter dish with a triangle of garlic toast - so fun!) *panko fish & chips (fresh-cut fries served with a sweet/sour dipping sauce & a side of cole slaw - again, unusual, unique, and delish) *make-your-own flat-bread pizza (for the little guy; a fun activity to keep him occupied while we made our selections from the tongue-in-cheek clip-boarded menus; the sauce was nicely spicy and we all noshed on it as it arrived; made me want to order a full-sized version!) *ribbon fries/chips served with a sweet ranch (?) dipping sauce (a huge portion that was SO good!) I was disappointed that they were out of the key lime cheesecake I had read so much about -- by 7:30? Nothing was offers as a substitute, so I declined dessert. Others at the table ordered a root beer float and the apple crisp, which was baked hot and served with ice cream & fresh fruit (perhaps if they peeled the apples first, it wouldn't have that strange stale (?) taste). While the end of the eve was not as impressive, we had a great time sharing unique food prepared unlike anything we have ever had -- thanks for the fun night! And how did I forget to mention the sweet coconut pineapple bread they serve immediately?? Easy to break apart and share, ours had a *slight* freezer taste that suggested it wasn't as fresh as I remembered it to be, but unlimited and filling, nonetheless :) Can't beat the sunset views and attentive service!     Awesome food! Kind of a funny location in a strip mall but the food, wine and waitstaff made up for it. Liked the small plate/tapas options. Loved the lobster tacos and the farmstead pizza. Our waiter John was super. He sent out an extra appetizer for us to try as well as a dessert. Definitely worth a return visit.

    We can't tell you if the food was good or not. We had a party of 6, including children. We were told a 20 minute wait, which is reasonable. Almost an hour later we left, got sandwiches at Subway to feed our hungry children. There is no place to wait except outside in the heat and sun. If you want to try this place, best call for reservations.

    hands down the best restaurant i've tried on the island. after being told that there would be a hour long wait we went to the nearby feast (that's another story). a few days later we made a reservation; 8:15 was the earliest they had for a table for two. it ended up being 8:45 by the time we got seated, but the food was worth the wait. we split the bruschetta which were pieces of yummy toast served with a ramekin filled with roasted tomatoes, pesto, and black olive tapenade. i had the shrimpcargots; 6 little shrimp cooked in an escargot dish with bacon, collards, garlic and tons of butter. my brother had the mussels served with arugula and fries. the waiter brought us more delicious bread to sop up the mussel and shrimp juices with for free, and it came with a little salad. for the main course i had a pot roast with a wonderful gravy, roast fingerlings, sweet carrots and roast shallots. my brother had pan seared mahi mahi which was so crispy and perfectly cooked, though it could have used a better sauce (he had it with key lime butter and capers). the fish was served with a yummy corn casserole and arugula salad. for dessert we split an amazing key lime cheesecake (recipe please), that was as good as any key lime pie i've ever had and as good as any cheesecake i've ever had. i almost gave them 5 stars because they are so much better than any other place that i've tried on the island, but i'm waiting to try more of the other restaurants on the island.

    The name of this establishment should be changed to "Don't Eat Here". When we were seated, we were forced on to the outside "patio" which consisted of two parking spaces in the parking lot. It was very hot outside, but luckily we had a huge Turbofan that didn't blow any cool air onto us. Upon ordering, we were encouraged to share plates as the waiter informed us that the portions were small (#logicCheck), which one should take as a warning. The entrees were meagerly undersized. The pairings of sauces and seafood struck the wrong chords; notes coupled more poorly than Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman. It was the equivalent of a peanut butter and ham sandwich. Bottom line: overpriced paltry portions while seated in steaming parking lot=chic faux paus.

    Great food. Had Serendipitous Salad and Crawfish Fish Cakes as appetizers, as well as Seafood Stew and Grilled Shrimp for entrees. They also have some delicious sounding desserts which we ordered, then canceled when we were told they don't serve coffee or tea. There was some canned speech by the waiter about not competing with The Beach Bistro, who owns both places, but it makes no sense. Just can't understand why they would offer some delectable sounding desserts and then ruin it by not serving a good cup of coffee or tea with it. They're losing out - we went down the street and had a very good ice cream at Dips for a lot less $$ - they could have had added another $20-25 to their bill. Very disappointing end to a meal. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.

    I was in Bradenton for five days and ate here a lot. The Gulf Stew was about as good as anything you'll find at Alan Wong's (Honolulu) for about half the price you would expect for the quality. They have a tempura fried beet that is incredible. I had a salad that was the equal of an Alan Wong salad and a strange concoction called shrimpcargot that was marvelous. They have a deep "wine by the glass" list and a huge beer list. Chef Gator (Jeff Thomas) is a really talented guy who came out and sat with us, explaining the menu on our first visit. His Grouper Cakes (stuffed with crawfish) were a local treat worth traveling for. I'd love to take Chef Gator back home with me. (He told me we couldn't afford him and I'm sure he's right.)

    This restaurant is the little sister to Beach Bistro on Anna Maria Island-Zagat best rated restaurant in FL...this one is more casual but the quality of food is amazing. Maybe 7 months old...went twice in February 2011 and was not disappointed either time...fantastic place...casual, no reservations but we were seated fairly quickly both times...try the "tempura'd beets"...no complaints from any of our parties...try it, you'll like it...

    Arrived on a Friday night. We ordered the onion soup as it looked amazing, and two entrees. The entrees arrived and about 5 minutes later the soup. The entrees arrived in under 5 minutes. It was not even hot. When we refused the soup the waitress was taken aback. I couldn't tell you how the food taste or what we ordered it was forgettable.

The only downside that would prevent us from going back is the serving size. Had the grouper and was only 4oz with the corn casserole which was quite good. Another person in our party had scallops and thought they were fantastic but once again a small serving size. For the cost of all the meals should of had a larger serving size. The guys came home and immediately put a frozen pizza in the oven.

    Stupid name. Weird location. Excellent food. The fried beats app was outstanding. I highly recommend. The chef has very good attention to detail. I had the seafood boil and the best part was the broth; it had a very rich flavor and it was obvious the mix of ingredients was very well thought out. My wife loved her veal meatloaf. It's located in a crappy strip mall but they decorated the interior with a great mix of original paintings and tasteful lighting. It's a relatively small space but they can easily accommodate a large group.

    My family and I visited last Saturday and were in delight of the food. For a small restaurant it packed a lot of meal choices and flavors. We started with the stuffed button mushroom appetizer special, goat cheese, summer vegetables, over arugula and drizzled with balsamic glaze, DELICIOUS! I ordered the Island-Style Ribs (bell pepper papaya jam), the dinner portion. I was not overly satisfied with the them, a bit fatty for me, but the flavor was there. My boyfriend ordered the burger special, two pattys, bacon, bacon jam, caramelized onions, and bell peppers, served with arugula, fries, and gravy for dipping (which he loved). My father ordered the seafood stew special and he loved it. My mother ordered the surf and turf, which I was able to taste and it was delicious! SO tender and flavorful! Overall we were very pleased with all our choices and would love to go back.

    Food was delicious. The serendipitous Salad was amazing. Pot roast tasted authentically French (bourgignon style). The sauce on the ribs were bangin good. Sweet papaya relish with Thai mustard. The rib meat was a little tough (not fall off bone) which was slightly disappointing but again, flavor was delectable. Prices "felt" a little high but in the end, absolutely fair for the quality and portions. It should also be noted, there were lots of tasty unique things on the menu I wanted to try. Enjoyed the free glass of Pinot we received for checking in to Yelp. The Service was very friendly but slightly inattentive. We waited a little while after seated before a server showed and it took a long time after we asked for the check to get out of the restaurant. I'll chalk that up to island pace. All in all though we were not disappointed and I would def recommend to anyone.

    We ate here! So first of all, there is not a lot of good restaurant choice in downtown. But This is It has done a good job of finding the right niche. This is an eclectic little place in an old downtown building. As we walked in we were greeted by one of the staff and immediately shown a table. It was early dinner and there was plenty of room, but it started to fill up quickly. Our server was great, both fun and attentive. (She even found another deep fried oreo after I stole one from my mother-in-law's plate.) Anyway, our group tried several different things. I had the bourbon chicken sandwich. It had good flavor, although the chicken could have been a little bigger as it didn't quite fill the bun. My wife's blackened chic was excellent. Onion rings were perfectly battered and cooked so the onions stilled had a snap. My son had the sirloin that was nicely grilled and flavorful. As first time guests, we were treated to deep fried oreos. WOW! All considered a great experience.

    I have no love for a restaurant that doesn't take reservations during season, and I won't go out to eat in Bradenton without a reservation because of all the snowbirds down here. I'll gladly re review this place when it starts taking reservations.

    By the look of the yelp reviews, I was excited to try something a little above the box. Chef inspired daily menu, with a regular menu for those who have favorites. There are two small (separate) kitchen at Eat Here. I didn't really understand why, but its something explained to you in the ordering process. It seemed like a pretty popular spot, so my wife and I were happy to get a booth and explore the menu. We started with the green beans ($7) and the order of fries ($6). The green beans were good, coming out in a small platter. The fries came in a take out container and were a HUGE portion. Small shoe string fries that were crispy and delicious. Honestly after our app we could have walked out happy, and full. We decided to split two of the pizzas. The pizza of the day was bbq, bacon, chicken pizza, which sounded delicious, and there is a house made sausage pizza. Can't be mad at homemade sausages. Both pizzas came out. I wouldn't call it flat bread and its def. Not Brooklyn style. Almost a french bread style. The crust of the pizza had a slight sweet tang to it, which was good but different. Both pizzas had a ton of cheese on them, which could sway your opinion depending on your preferences. The bbq chicken pizza had a slight burn on the bottom of the crust that occasionally overpowered the rest of the pizza. The sausage pizza also had a little interesting piece to it. One of the sausages tasted like a kielbasa, the other was super dense like a hard packed meatball. I really wanted to enjoy these pizzas, but both my wife and myself felt a little let down the pizza. Missed opportunity I suppose.

    Our experience was so great last year that we couldn't resist another visit. We were disappointed they weren't taking reservations, but we arrived around 5:30 on a Friday and only had a five minute wait. We were seated inside at the same table as last year. We were spoiled by our server last year and felt a little let down this year. No clue what his name was, but he seemed rushed and never even explained the specials. Fortunately, we were return diners, but could have been a turn off for first timers. We share the kale salad, poutine with house fries and grouper with a key lime butter and caper sauce served with a side (we picked corn casserole) and nicely dressed arugula. My husband was in heaven with the poutine and didn't want to share. Perfectly crisped fries with a decadent gravy and loaded with meat. The kale salad was refreshing with a bright vinaigrette - the only complaint was the size as it was small for the $10 price tag. We also shared the large grouper entree that was only the daily special menu. It was a nice size with a key lime butter and caper sauce. The sauce was light on the lime and heavy on the butter - more citrus would have brighten it up. You have a choice of sides and we thought the corn casserole sounded unique - it was good, but a little bland. $34 was the listed price, but $33 showed up on the bill.

    Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I think if you are spending any kind of time on the island you would be foolish not to stop by Eat Here! My family has been coming here for more than a decade and we were so happy when this restaurant opened up, please Eat Here!

    Some friends of mine and I came here on Saturday. We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant and I can't wait to bring my family here. First the food: We came and checked in which got us our free glass of wine :) Then we decided to get some appetizers to share, we got the grilled cheese and the better bruschetta. Both of which were phenomenal......sooo sooo good! For dinner I had their lobster and shrimp tacos which were so yummy! My friends got the meatloaf (which was surprisingly good) and the pizza of the day (which was ok, but very spicy with the jalapenos). We then had dessert, the small apple crisp and the creme brulee. Both of these were good, but the creme brulee's consistency was a bit off. Too thick. The ambiance in the restaurant is very shabby chic. I wasn't expecting the quality of food from looking at the outside. And the bar area could use a facelift, but it was kind of a cool ambiance, you could tell they weren't trying too hard. Our service was also fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. I cannot wait to come back!!

    I was on Anna Maria Island back in December and made a choice not to try Eat Here. I passed it up because it sounded a bit too cute or desperate. I wish I hadn't. This little hole in the wall puts out a pretty good product. The indoor dining is intimate and well decorated. The outside dining was in a parking lot but that seems about right for the location. We passed on the outdoor seating since the weather was a bit foul but it probably would be unbearable in the heat. For us Yelpers, this place paid off when checking in. I got a offer for a free glass of wine which I took full advantage of with my meal. It was a nice touch and pleasant surprise. I left the wine pairing to our waitress. I feel amiss since I meant to get her name but it became lost. She did nice job with a French sauvignon blanc. The menu is creative and has a bit for everyone; seafood, beef, etc. At first, we ordered one of most interesting version of bruschetta. The tomatoes were nicely grilled in an olive oil herb blend along with a melody of diced olives. The pesto was served individually as well. When all is combined on a fresh garlic bread, it was the most enjoyable starter I have had in awhile. For an entree, I went with the Key West Mahi Mahi which is served with lightly dressed greens salad and french fries. The fish was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. The fries were a bit more crispy than I would have preferred but they were fine shoestring cut. The fish plate was a special so not sure you will find it on any given visit. My mother and father ordered the Mahi Mahi flour tacos and the grilled shrimp. Both found their meals exceptional and well prepared. My mother raved about the tacos and my father surely enjoyed his meal. For desert, I had the Key Lime cheesecake. The cheesecake filling and crust were very tasty and a joy to eat. However, the Key Lime cheesecake was not all that much "Key Limey". I would order it again because it was that good but would set my expectations for tartness a bit lower. My mothers apple crisp was "fine" but otherwise not very noteworthy. Overall, it was a good value. We had an appetizer suitable for three, three entries, and two deserts for $90. This is a most definitely a spot to visit on our return in December. Get past the name and you have a gem.

    Highly recommend! Exceptional staff and the food might be the best on the island, except for Beach Bistro. By the way, it's the same owner. Only downside is the location.

    While everything else in town was closing up for a Sunday night, I waited until 5:30 for this restaurant to open. The inside decor is one step into fancy and one step still in casual Bistro. They need to make up their mind and I would choose the fancier side. Some things look like they had just said "let's put something here. " but overall the atmosphere was relaxing and suitable. It's obvious the staff is more than just people working at a job, they are restauranteurs. My waiter was well-versed in the specials and knew a lot more about the regular menu. He was efficient and friendly. I chose the special surf and turf meal. The filet was large and and cooked perfectly. The three shrimp were hyge and the meal came with mashed potatoes and an arugula salad. Everything was very hot and delicious. But I felt like I had tasted the demi glaze on the steak before. The sauce for the shrimp seemed to be like a stepchild to the family on the plate, fighting for attention. Overall everything was delicious, it just wasn't quite the out of the ordinary experience I was looking for. This is the second restaurant for the owner and I really wanted the chef to explore beyond the boundaries of regular cooking which is why I went for the night's special. The restaurant's name made me feel like the restaurant would be brown paper bag, but it really isn't. Its well suited for couples or a group night out. Families may find the prices a little out of their reach.

    Our family enjoyed a delicious dinner here. The food had good flavor and we found plenty of options for everyone in our group of 7. The space is smaller but we were able to sit at the community table. Overall a good experience and we will come back.

    Best restaurant in the area by far! The service was great, they had a wide drink selection, and the food was AMAZING. We had to go back twice! Highly recommend the shrimp and lobster tacos, the Seattle style grilled cheese (with bacon and tomatoes), and the veal sausage pizza. If you are a fan of great food, this is a must-try

    Excellent food and service. I had Key West Mahi my wife had Sea Scallops. Ask for key lime dill butter. Loved the Brussels Sprouts with bacon. And for desert, Apple fruit crisp. Excellent dining experience.

    The staff is not very nice. Kids are not welcome. Two diners at our table ordered shellfish. In both cases they were overcooked and very tough. The beer prices are way higher than typical restaurant beer prices. It burns me up when I eat out and know I could have made better food at home for far less money. Do not go on a clear day before sunset. All their windows face west and they don't have shades installed.

    We just wanted to have some pizza and salad our last night on the island and didn't realize how hard that would be to come by in this quaint little town. We found Eat Here and ordered caesar salads with wood fired pizza and both were delicious. It's in a great spot that is central when driving on Anna Marie\Holmes beach area.

    This place is not what it claims to be, for starters the waiter was friendly but I feel like he builds you up about how they cook and serve their food and how they don't use heat lamps and it's all cooked to order. This place is way over priced for what you get and the menu is extremely limited. I ordered a $20.00 plate of meatloaf with mash potatoes and it didn't even have the basic flavors of a traditional meatloaf, they where two big pieces but it just wasn't worth it. My girlfriend ordered a scallop meal for $22 and it had the 3 smallest scallops I have ever seen what a joke. The meals came with a side of arugula and none of our salads had any dressing they were both dry. The spinach soufflé was dry and not tasty. Basically the presentation and the waiters story of how they cook and prepare their dishes was the biggest hype and experience you get from this place. I've been to Bradenton Beach and Ana Maria island plenty of times to eat and there are plenty of delicious food spots out there but never again will I come back to Eat Here. I left with this feeling that I was taken for a fool it was just hyped up so well by the waiter and the food did not back up anything he said. He came off as this "hipster" dude with this we do it all fresh and right attitude. But what a failure this place was. I should have gone to the Blue Marlin like I originally intended.

    From the moment we were greeted by Marjorie and introduced to our server Mary I could only imagine how the dinner was going to be and I was right. I only wish There was a rating over 5 stars.We had the fish dip for appetizer. Mary had to check what the fresh fish of the day was that made it. Even had caviar on top. Large enough to be an entree. Fish tacos with just right shrimp and large pieces of lobster. My wife had mussels with wine sauce and fresh tomatoes. Done to perfection. Let's not forget the desserts. Each thing Mary brought was better than the next. My only problem...... They are not open for lunch.

    Very accommodating to our family and what a wonderful meal, and memory. I cannot wait to dine here again, as the staff extremely gracious. They didn't break a sweat as we had an infant and toddler in tow.

    Four of us had a wonderful dinner at Eat Here this evening Tida was our outstanding waitress and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We started out with the Totanic & Serendipitous salads which were both great. We shared the Poutine house fries and debris demi-glacé it was different and the flavor of it all was so good. For our main course we had the pizza with venison sausage with balsamic vinegar and the flavor was rich and good. Also two of our party had the Gulf shrimp - Mosca'd the shrimp were big and they were served in delicious mashed potatoes. Finally we split a creme brûlée. What a wonderful place to have on the island and we plan to return again next year.

    Many many visits to Eat Here since my first review. It is always a great meal! This week we had the shrimp and lobster tacos, mussels, clams, and the heart attack hot dog. Everything was great as usual. Hubby and friend both the mussels and clams said their dishes were fresh and perfectly seasoned. They wished they had had one more piece of bread to soak up the broth. My fish tacos were great but pretty standard, nothing to stand up and shout about. Our buddy with the heart attack dog said said it was hands down awesome and this from a guy that always eats healthy! He also said th fros were amazing. The tempura beets did not disappoint. Friends, only beer and wine at Eat Here, no full bar. Make reservations, you will need them.

    Eat anywhere BUT here. Rip off. $20 for 3 scallops and a side that doesn't cost them more than $.50 to make? Come on. Meatloaf was slightly dry but large portion nonetheless for $19. Fish dip app reminded me of a canned tuna fish. Ambience and service are far better than the food flavor and quality. Cheesecake Factory is better than this place and I don't advocate chains. Tourist trap.

    Enjoyed dinner here last night. Most of the food was amazing. I personally had the ribs with papaya jam and they were great. I also had a French onion soup which was a little to salty for me but also tasted very good. The desserts creme brûlée and key lime cheesecake both tasted great but the key lime was my favorite. Only mix up was I asked for a side that they forgot about and we did have a little mix up on our check but that was about it! All in all the food was great.

    Great food. ...if you cannot afford to spend $100+per person, at beach bistro....eat here! Same owners and we actually had better service and the food was great! Only drawback is that they do not sell liquor.

    Food was fresh and tasty! I loved the kale salad as well as the fresh fish tacos (yum!) they offered on the menu. They only present fresh locally caught fish every evening, nothing is shipped in, which is a great way to taste local caught fare. Down fall of this restaurant is it is very small and feels cramped. If it's nice outside I would much prefer to sit outside! It also smelled really burnt inside like the kitchen does not have proper ventilation. I found myself smelling a burnt smell on my clothes and in my Hair when I left. Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen but it wasn't pleasant to leave smelling that. If I'm in town again I will for sure go back, we will just sit outside :)

    Stopped in while we were on vacation and everything had a horrendous waiting period. First off, classy move with the offering of wine to people who are waiting. The only thing I like better than wine, is free wine. I was confused at first as to why it touts itself as the second best restaurant on the island but that would be because the owner also runs the more upscale restaurant on the island (took me too long to figure this one out). Service was great and she explained a lot of dishes for us! Very helpful when deciding. I appreciated that the portions were smaller, yet really, really well prepared. My family vacations here frequently and I'd be happy to visit again!
